CORINTH LAWN CARE
Your Lawn Care Company in Corinth, Texas
Looking for a lawn care company in Corinth, TX? Jhernandez Lawn Service is a family-owned business proudly serving the area, run by owner Jose Hernandez. He has worked lawns across North Texas for more than 20 years and today looks after more than 100 properties.
Corinth is a small city, and small cities tend to get whatever crew happens to be finishing a job in Denton or Lewisville that afternoon. We run set route days here instead, so your yard gets serviced on the same day each week rather than whenever a truck is passing through on the way to somewhere bigger.
Everything is quoted in writing before we start, and there is no contract to sign. You call or text Jose directly, he prices the work himself, and he is on the properties with his own crew.
✓ 20+ years working North Texas lawns
✓ 100+ properties on the route
✓ Set route days, not drive-by service
✓ Experienced with sloped lakeside lots
✓ Written pricing, no contract

WHAT WE DO
Lawn Care Services in Corinth, TX
One crew for the whole property, from the weekly cut to fertilization, trimming and full landscape installs.
Lawn Mowing in Corinth TX
Weekly or biweekly mowing at the right height for your grass, plus weed-eating, edging along every walk and drive, and hard surfaces blown clean.
Lawn Care Fertilizer Service
Five to six applications a year, timed to soil temperature rather than the calendar. Available on its own if you mow your own lawn.
Landscaping Services in Corinth TX
Bed design and installation, plantings, edging, stone borders and front-yard renovations, priced by the job with a written plant list.
Tree Service in Corinth TX
Tree and shrub trimming, hedges shaped, crape myrtles pruned properly, and canopies thinned to get light back down to the grass underneath.
Yard Cleanup
Spring and fall cleanups, overgrown and vacant lots, rental turnovers, bed weeding and re-edging, with everything hauled off.
Leaf Removal
One-time or season-long clearing of lawn, beds, fence lines and reachable gutters. On sloped lots leaves collect at the bottom of the grade and mat down the turf there.
Sod Installation
New bermuda, St. Augustine or zoysia laid on properly prepped ground. On a compacted lot the prep matters more than the sod, and we do not skip it.
Mulch Installation
Beds weeded and re-edged, old crusted mulch broken up, then fresh hardwood, cedar or black mulch at the right depth and kept off the trunks.
Planting Services
Trees, shrubs, flower beds, perennials and seasonal color, with Texas-adapted choices and beds amended rather than dug as a hole full of bagged soil.

RECURRING SERVICE
Lawn Maintenance in Corinth, Season by Season
Most customers hand off the whole year rather than booking a single cut: what gets mowed and when, when the lawn gets fed, when beds get refreshed, and what happens the week a freeze or a heat run changes the plan.
MAR – MAY
Spring
Cleanup, first cuts, spring feeding, bed re-edging and mulch. Core aeration once the turf is actively growing, which on a compacted Corinth lot is the highest-value visit of the year.
JUN – SEP
Summer
Weekly mowing, cut high, sharp blades, clippings left down. Shallow-rooted turf on thin soil is the first thing to brown out in a Texas August, so height does a lot of work here.
OCT – DEC
Fall
Fall pre-emergent and winterizer, leaf removal on a repeat schedule, perennials cut back. On sloped lots the low end of the yard needs clearing more than once.
JAN – FEB
Winter
Dormant-season trimming, structural pruning, cleanups, and late-winter pre-emergent timed to soil temperature. The one application that decides your crabgrass summer.
TREATMENT PROGRAM
Lawn Care Fertilizer Service and Weed Control in Corinth TX
You can book the treatment program on its own. Plenty of Corinth customers mow their own lawn and only want the part that is easy to get wrong: what goes down, at what rate, and when.
LATE WINTER
Pre-Emergent, Timed
Down and watered in before soil temperatures reach the mid-fifties and hold. Usually late February into early March here, but it follows the weather, not the calendar. Miss it and you spray all summer.
SPRING & SUMMER
Feeding and Broadleaf Control
Green-up feeding, a summer application with iron, and spot broadleaf control as things come up. Heavy nitrogen in peak heat does damage, so summer feeding stays light.
FALL
Second Pre-Emergent
A fall application stops cool-season weeds before they germinate, which is why some lawns come out of winter clean and the one next door comes out full of henbit and poa annua.
THE HONEST PART
Spray Is Not the Whole Answer
Weeds fill gaps. On a thin lawn over compacted ground you can spray every month and still have weeds, because nothing is closing the gaps. Aeration and correct mowing height do more than another application.
LOCAL CONDITIONS
The Real Problem With Most Corinth Lawns
Corinth grew fast between the mid-nineties and the mid-two-thousands, and nearly every subdivision here was mass graded to build it. That process strips the native topsoil, runs heavy equipment across the subgrade until it is packed hard, then puts back a thin layer of soil and rolls sod over the top.
Twenty-odd years later, the grass is still rooting in those few inches. Water runs off instead of soaking down. Roots cannot reach deep enough to carry the lawn through August. The lawn looks fine in April and gives up in July, every year, and no amount of extra water or extra fertilizer changes it, because neither one addresses what is actually wrong.
What actually fixes it: core aeration every spring, pulling real plugs rather than spiking, plus topdressing with compost so the holes fill with something better than what came out. Two or three seasons of that and the root zone genuinely deepens.
And what helps immediately: water longer and less often so it penetrates rather than running off, and mow high so the grass shades its own root zone. Both are free and both make a visible difference in one season.
THE LAKE SIDE OF TOWN
Sloped Lots Toward Lake Lewisville
Corinth runs down to the north shore of Lake Lewisville, and the ground on that side has real fall to it. A sloped lot is a different maintenance problem from a flat one two streets away, and it is usually treated as though it were the same.
Water leaves before it soaks
On a grade, a normal irrigation cycle mostly runs downhill. Short repeated cycles with a soak between them put the same water in the ground instead of in the street.
Two lawns, one yard
The top of the grade dries out first and the bottom stays wet longest. They need different watering, and sometimes different grass, even though they are the same property.
Runoff goes somewhere
Whatever you put on a slope this close to the lake does not stay on the slope. We keep granular product off hard surfaces and time applications so they are watered in rather than washed off.
Erosion at the bottom
Where turf thins on a grade the soil starts moving, and it accelerates. A bed, a stone border or a groundcover at the low point is a better answer than reseeding the same channel every spring.
WHY CORINTH HOMEOWNERS CALL US
What You Get With a Local Owner-Operator
01
One Person Accountable
Jose quotes the job, works the properties and answers the phone. No call center, no rotating subcontractor, no explaining your yard to someone new every month.
02
A Real Route, Not a Detour
Corinth is small enough that a lot of crews treat it as an add-on to Denton or Lewisville. We run set days here, so your yard is on the schedule rather than fitted in.
03
Written Prices, No Contract
Every job is priced in writing before it starts and the mowing rate holds for the season. Nothing gets added to a bill that wasn’t quoted first.
04
Everything From One Crew
Mowing, treatments, trimming, beds, sod and cleanups handled by the same people. Nobody has to coordinate three vendors to get a yard looking right.

GOOD TO KNOW
Corinth Lawn Care Questions
Mowing is priced by measured turf area and access rather than a flat rate, and fertilizer and weed control are priced per application by turf area. We measure the actual grass rather than the lot, quote it in writing, and hold the price for the season. Landscaping, tree work, sod and cleanups are quoted by the job after a free walkthrough.
Most of Corinth was built between the mid-nineties and the mid-two-thousands, and mass grading on those subdivisions stripped the topsoil, compacted the subgrade with heavy equipment, then laid a thin layer of soil and sod over the top. Twenty years later the grass is still rooting in a few inches of soil sitting on packed ground. Water runs off instead of soaking in, and roots cannot go deep enough to survive August. Core aeration and topdressing fix that over a couple of seasons. More water and more fertilizer do not.
Yes. Corinth runs down toward the north shore of Lake Lewisville and plenty of properties on that side sit on real slope. Sloped turf sheds water before it soaks in, dries out at the top of the grade and stays soggy at the bottom, and it needs different mowing and watering than a flat lot two streets away. On steeper ground we also watch runoff, because whatever you put on a slope near the lake does not stay on the slope.
All of Corinth, TX 76210, including the neighborhoods along Corinth Parkway and Lake Sharon Drive, Oakmont, Meadow Oaks, Post Oak, the Parkridge and Shady Rest areas, the I-35E corridor, and the properties running down toward the lake. Late winter, before soil temperatures reach the mid-fifties and hold there. That is usually late February into early March in Denton County, but it moves with the weather and not the calendar. Miss the window and you spend the whole summer spraying crabgrass that one timed application would have prevented. A second pre-emergent goes down in fall for cool-season weeds like henbit and poa annua.
Yes. Plenty of Corinth customers mow their own lawn and just want the treatment program handled correctly. Fertilizer and weed control can be booked on its own without mowing service, on a five or six application schedule across the year.
On most Corinth lawns it is the single highest-value thing you can do. The problem here is almost never nutrition, it is that roots cannot get down through compacted builder subgrade. Core aeration pulls real plugs and opens that up; topdressing with compost afterward fills the holes with something better than what came out. Two or three seasons of that changes the lawn in a way another fertilizer application never will.
Both, and there is no contract either way. Most customers are on weekly or biweekly mowing, but one-time yard cleanups, trimming visits, single fertilizer applications and installs are all available on their own.
Jose Hernandez and his own crew. He quotes the work himself, is on the properties, and is who you call or text with a question. No call center, no rotating subcontractor, and no explaining your yard to somebody new every month.

ABOUT CORINTH, TEXAS
The City We Work In
Corinth sits in Denton County on the north shore of Lake Lewisville, between Denton and Highland Village, in the 76210 zip code. It is compact — roughly 22,000 people across about eight square miles — and sandwiched between much larger neighbors.
For most of the twentieth century Corinth was a small crossroads community. Then I-35E made it commutable, and the city grew several times over between the mid-nineties and the mid-two-thousands. Nearly all of its housing stock dates from that window, which is why so many yards here share the same underlying problem: thin soil over ground that was compacted by construction equipment thirty years ago and never recovered.
The lake shapes the rest. Land falls away toward the shoreline on the west and south, so slope, drainage and runoff are ordinary considerations here in a way they are not in flatter cities east of the interstate.
Jose Hernandez has worked lawns across North Texas for more than 20 years and now maintains over 100 properties. Two decades in, you can tell within a few minutes of walking a Corinth yard whether the problem is what the homeowner is doing or what a grading crew did before the house went up.
